To have direct input into the standards on nursing education and influence on the education process. To model a high level of integrity among students in their dealings with people as they strive for excellence in everything they do, as it is an expectation and not a goal.

Our Mission:

Welcome new and returning nursing students to a brand new semester! Classes are beginning, tests are around the corner, and we are expected to know more and more with each passing day. As this semester takes off to a running start, don’t forget about what makes nursing school so unique: the connection. The connection to patients in time of need, the connection to a health care team, and the connection to fellow nursing students.

 

Council of Schools’ theme this year is “A Connection Deeper Than the Job.” It will be held September 25-26 at the Doubletree Hotel Austin in Austin, Texas. Council of Schools is held to help all TNSA members and local chapters get the information needed to begin a successful year. Focus sessions will center on building and maintaining a useful connection, as well as information about running a local chapter. Council of Schools is also a great time to learn about running for office. There will be information available about the roles and responsibilities of each position and how to run a campaign. We encourage all TNSA members to plan to attend. This convention is an excellent opportunity to meet nursing students and professionals from across Texas, and to share ideas and information about the new school year.
