Text Box: To provide the highest education for student nurses while aiding in the development of the whole person. To have direct input into the standards on nursing education and influence on the education process. To model a high level of integrity among students in their dealings with people as they strive for excellence in everything they do, as it is an expectation and not a goal.

Hello, I am Ellerson Pork, the President of your Texas Nurses Students’ Association.  I am a third year student in the RN program at University of Texas Tyler/Palestine campus. I am a business owner, military veteran, and a member of Sigma Nu Fraternity. I am an avid golfer, with a passion for being in the outdoors and traveling the world. I love life and people. I have earned a BS in Business Administration from Kentucky Wesleyan University, but this second degree in nursing has been the most challenging and yet rewarding degree I will have received.

I am honored to have been selected to represent you, and I pledge to work tirelessly to make our state association and the local chapters strong, active, and growing in members. I look forward to meeting you, and hope that you can share your ideas and stories with me. I can tell you that this board will do everything in its power to promote chapter participation, teamwork, stability, and growth. This board is here for you!

We are an entity with a voice.  TNSA is an organization that is full of promise and potential, an organization that will lead the charge in the future of the profession of nursing. TNSA is a tool that will enable its members to establish their own voice and unique style of showing charity and fulfilling their civic duties. The amount of passion, commitment, and activity that you develop now, will mold the type of nurse you will become. This profession needs you. This organization depends on your participation and determination. The state of Texas and the nation need to know who we are and what we aspire to be. It starts here ladies and gentlemen. It starts from within, and I again thank you for providing me the opportunity to serve you.

Hello TNSA members!  My name is Charles Dunnahoe and I am YOUR 2008-2009 TNSA Vice President.  I would like to personally thank each and every one of you for allowing me to serve you this year.  In case you wanted to know a little more about me, here it is.  I have been married for 14 years and have a 3-year-old child.  I am a second level nursing student at the University of Texas Tyler “Palestine Campus”.  Upon graduation, I am planning on specializing in either NICU or Pediatrics. If I survive serving all of you this year, I will graduate in this December.  I ran for office this year because I felt my management experience in the corporate world would be beneficial to each and every nursing student throughout the Great State of Texas. As an organization we are in an ever-changing field and that requires leadership which can adapt and move forward for the better of the entire group.  I hope that I can be that leader for each one of you.  Once again, thank you very much for giving me the opportunity to serve you.  Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns.  I can be reached at:   vice.pres@tnsa.org .
